Out About from Higher Tredis Farm passionately believe in high welfare for farm animals. We believe that they should have the opportunity to live as close to their natural environment as possible. This means all our stock are truly Free Range. We have planted trees to emulate a more natural environment and provided wallowing pools for our pigs. As farmers we feel it is our responsibility to take care of the land and this includes the global environment. One of the ways we can do this is to keep food miles to a minimum, so we use the local abattoir at Tideford. This also reduces stress on transportation of animals. The butchering, sausage, bacon and burgers are all done here by us, saving even more food miles. Please look at our website to see photos and further information. Together with Trerieve Farm and Keveral veg boxes we have started delivering direct to local village homes. This allows more locally grown produce to be sold closer to home without us delivering 3 times to the same location, and you the customer only having to answer the door once instead getting into your car and driving to the supermarket.
